Denis Rouvre is a French photographer. Born in 1967, he lives and works in Paris. Since 1992, Denis Rouvre has been shooting portraits of stars in the limelight and anonymous beings with ordinary lives and extraordinary fates, those he names himself his “contemporary heroes”. A number of his personal series, investigations into the power and fragility of man, have been exhibited in France and abroad. He has been awarded several highly prestigious prizes, such as the World Press Photo three times.

At one with nature
I imagined this new humanity as a return to the origins of the world. A fanciful vision in which man is one with nature. It is the land that nourishes him: he draws from its vital sources and fuses himself with it.
The man of tomorrow
This modern shaman is a warrior in a world without war, without codes, without religion. Half man, half tree, his blood is sap, his skin bark, his origins many and mysterious. He represents an idealised view of the man of tomorrow, individual, free and in complete harmony with his world.
