Charlie Davoli, Riccardo Schirinzi's alter ego, was born in Singapore in 1976 and lives and works in Casarano (Lecce). He started recreating paradoxical visual situations, thus acquiring a language whose soul is in the creation of fantastic atmospheres, disconnected from reality. Charlie Davoli, who considers photography as a playful means with which to ironize reality, brings out the narrative element, leading the viewer towards new itineraries.
We need our souls to keep the world in balance and ensure the harmony of creation.
Humanism and science can coexist
Technology is depriving us of our souls without our realising it. We cannot live like this any longer. We need our souls to keep the world in balance and ensure the harmony of creation. This is why I like to believe that humanism and science can coexist, reinforcing one another. I like to believe that this dissonance, this atypicality, is the spark that can awaken consciences, shaking them from their torpor
The spark of an awakening
The awakening thus becomes manifest through interlocks, subverted structures, preconceptions turned on their head, meanings reversed, perspectives blended together. We need this spark to reflect on the importance of reinvesting in moral and economic dignity to live in harmony with nature and our fellow humans.
All we need is to understand the difference between being the guardians and not the owners of the Earth.
Guardians of the Earth
All we need is to understand the difference between being the guardians and not the owners of the Earth. To protect this world for those who will come after us. To celebrate socially correct gestures of daily courtesy. They may be small in practice, but great in terms of the precious vital essence that the spirit and soul can derive from them.
The magic of little gestures
Little gestures like that of allowing the water to mix with the coffee, a combination that creates a new equilibrium and confers that unmistakable, strong aroma. A magic trick that is highly reminiscent of the spark that I seek to bring out of my work.
