Children remind us what it means to be human.
The best for children
Millions of children in danger
More than 100 years ago, Save the Children was founded by a courageous woman named Eglantyne Jebb, who said: "Humanity owes the child the best it has to give".
Millions of children in danger
However, around the world today, millions of children are missing out on their education, dying from preventable causes, and experiencing violence and abuse, simply because of who they are or where they live.
Children show us that change is possible.
Speaking for our planet
The world around them is also rapidly changing. Their basic human rights are under threat, and in many countries, we are witnessing alarming rises in nationalism and populism.
It can sometimes feel impossible to change the way the world sees and treats children. But only if we let it. Listening to children not only gives us all hope, but also inspires us.
Children remind us what it means to be human. Children like Leila and John, who fled conflict in South Sudan and are now living as refugees in Uganda, tell us to be kind and strong; that you should never give up.
Children show us that change is possible. They are speaking up for their own rights, for the rights of others, and for our planet.
Children inspire us to rediscover our humanity.
