Open stories

He arrived there punctually every day at eight and unfolded the newspaper in front of himself, without reading it.
For the others in the café, he didn't have a name or even a face, hidden as he was by the two central pages of the paper each time.
He positioned himself behind it in search of his own privacy and then he began to imagine.
He invented heart-warming headlines, multi-column articles with sensational news, short poetic pieces.
He read words that weren’t written and that spoke, for example, of a beautiful World Without: without wars, without disease, without divisions, without fear.
Then, he folded the paper and headed off, whistling towards the rest of the day.
