Daniel met her once a week at an old Internet café.
A place he loved because it had bravely defended itself against the global onslaught of smartphones, tablets and gigabytes. And it had survived.
The ideal place, after all, to establish a connection. She liked that Internet café too.
She felt protected, like in a shell floating out of time. That was the description she had given him during a previous encounter and he'd smiled.
But now, in front of the door, they weren’t floating.
Standing, one in front of the other, they exchanged silences.
That's sometimes how it was between Daniel and the Girl from the Future.
